The thing about drivers and any software in general. Is that you should never rely on the "It worked before, so it should work now" fallacy
Because some bugs are triggered when certain conditions are met.

A example of such a bug, was triggered in SecondLife after sim-restart, since most sims don't restart for a long time it went unnoticed. And upon restart there would be object rez issues and script running issues.
