Find the avatar you want to copy on the radar, right click goto for storm pro drop down and select export avi.
A new viewer? I guess this one won't work with linux though right? :/ Would be very hand in such a case.
I tried downloading some animations today and SL kept logging me out every time I saved one to my pc. What would cause that?
I do not know why that would happen for you, never happen for me. Are you trying to upload a large amount?...Never happens for me!
I am getting a "Export failed unexpectidly. Please see the log for details." error when I try to backup and save as. It worked once but since then nothing.

The log is no help. It says pretty much the same thing.
If you are getting export failed you are probably trying to save a dae file as oxp. You can only save mesh as collada and you can only save prims as backup or xml.

Ok, so how do you change the file type. The only option under backup is .oxp.
You cant change the file type you either backup as .oxp or export as .xml.

No matter what I do. It does not give me the option to export anything. It's eather backup as .oxp or copy and they both fail.
