Steps:

Find the Microphone stand in the Musical Instruments section, of the inworld store
Sit on it
Click on the Microphone stand and a dialog will show
Click on Free Microphone and accept object
Check object in your Inventory, microphone object is full perm and can be used as creator prim

Everything that is visible in the store is mostly non-mesh and can be exported as XML. A lot of nice Club/DJ/Studio Decoration.
