I have been a Second Life user since 2007. In 2015 I let my subscription go by not submitting my updated credit card information after it expired. After a few months, SL removed my avatars. It was then that I learned that after spending thousands of dollars playing SL, I could no longer access my virtual stuff!
I had to go through a lengthy phone call with LL but finally got one of the avies re-established. Then I started looking at other virtual worlds. I wanted to save the digital content that I bought in SL without having to continue to give them my credit card info. My favorite thing to do is build, but I was also tired of paying expensive tier fees for enough prim content to build what I wanted. Finally, I found Open Sim.
I now have my own private world on my computer, but nearly nothing to put into it. I could spend years making content with Blender and textures through Photoshop, and I have made a few things, but it makes me mad when I think of recreating all the content I've bought on SL and can't use on my own freaking computer.
So here I am.
Thank you!
