Hi.

Just following the "don't get banned" email so thought I'd share my YT post now that I finally managed to get the forum to load. I was having serious connection issues.

The following is what I posted on goonsquadsl's YT page on the copybot issue and shared my point of view.

My name is Delana - IRL - and my virtual persona is Quinn (middle name) so I tend to go by Delana Quinn, or one of the two. ANYway, I'm probably older than everyone who is a member here - but I'm not dead yet so there's that. I discovered SL in 2006 but ultimately moved toward OpenSim because I couldn't justify making a monthly car payment equivalent for virtual space. I am a content creator but not the uppity kind. I make a lot of stuff and have a fab business venture in mind so to make that happen, I'm learning a lot more stuff on the creation end. I don't mind sharing stuff but I do feel it'd be one sided - most of you probably run circles around what I can do anyway but I'll still contribute, pay it forward, share as I'm able.

Anyway, so here's the post so you'll know where I stand:

If I could track down a current - 2015 current - copybot option (and the instructions on how to go about using it) to be able to liberate my SL stuff that I paid real money for, I would be more than happy to share and help other people. I get it the copybot issue is combative and people get paranoid but I'm not one of those people. I have no real issue admitting I'd use one and help people learn how to use it, make the most of it. Share it, pass it around, etc. The problem I'm having is getting that information to begin with. It's either malware from douchebags or treated like it's some top secret thing.

My view: I don't have any desire to claim creative copyrights, I'm clearly aware of my limited ability to make some things and glad to give the creators their due. MY issue is when I spend real money the creators can take to the bank and buy real world stuff imposing a ton of restrictions on what I can and can't do with the virtual content I just bought. No copies. no modification, no transfer, no export.

I don't think so. If they want to impose all that, then I'll be glad to send them some virtual money with the same restrictions - they can't transfer it out, can't give it away, can't use it to make more. See how they like that shit.

If I spend real money, then I can take it to some other grid or send it to an alt acct or store it on my HD for safe keeping in the form of inventory glitches that wipe out my paid for stuff. I spent a ton of money in SL and have no way to use it anywhere else, my stuff is held hostage. That's the bottom line reason I'm looking for a copybot. I'm not interested in stealing anything in particular - but I admit I'd try it out to see how it all works, but other than that, I'm not opposed to spending money. I am highly opposed to being told what I can and can't do with stuff I bought and paid real money for that now belongs to me.

I don't go to walmart and buy a tv and tell people I made it. But if I buy a tv, and later decide to move to another state, that tv's going with me. And if I was told at the door I could only use the tv inside walmart, I'm probably going to throat punch somebody. If I buy a tv for another person, then I have a right to give it to them. I have the right to let someone else borrow it. These content creators are a little too uppity and need to understand that if they want to impose these kinds of restrictions, the same should apply to the means of currency they receive. They want all the benefit and squawk when anyone else wants a benefit. They and this pompous attitude are the very reason copybots exist.

As for the stigma - I'm not the vaguest bit worried about that. My opinion of other people isn't taking a backseat to their opinions of me. My opinion of uppity content creators who want to take my real money and give me something I can't do squat with are out of their minds. I have zero reservations using a copybot to drive that point home.

Anyway...that's my view. I sent a message but decided to "come out" here instead. What would you want from me in trade for a copybot copy and info on how to put it to work? Thanks for considering my request.

Oh, and thank you greatly for making tutorials that are clear and helpful, and not crappy, blurry, too small, and punctuated with obnoxious music instead of a clear explanation! You rock. I hope you make more.

Happy Holidays!

Good lawd... After reading this introduction it is very clear you are an organized and detailed person. You can be useful for making tutorials, writing articles or sharing knowledge with other's. You dont just have to share copybot products. Welcome to the fam!

Thank you kindly. I wondered - if you guys use Sim on a Stick (or whitecore or newworldstudios) to do your mesh testing it'd probably save you some $Ls in the final upload.

This is the link to my google drive to download my shares in exchange for a copybot viewer or two to check out.

Thanks, Zero, for the info earlier. It's appreciated. I'm really enjoying the forum (when it loads for me lol)... I've learned a lot in 24 hours. Looking forward to the rest.

PS - What are your preferences on me sharing info found here, or the yt channel, or referring others here? On my gaming site (virtuallyquinn.com) I won't have a huge issue championing the copybot or offering use tutorials (soon as I figure it out). Since I'd have gotten it from here, just wanted to know what you'd rather me do or not do, including making some of the files available. Just checking first!

It seems to be loading for now so I'm checking out the rest while I'm on a roll. It was a gateway timeout error I kept getting.

And thanks!
