SOUNDS

-------
Object sounds-

Extinction:
When it comes to extracting sounds I find that the Extinction viewer is the best tool for this, so the instructions will be for Ex viewer.

::Sounds from Objects::

Right click on the object with the sound. From the pie menu select Edit
With the build menu open navigate to the CONTENT tab.

Double click on the sound file ( The item with the speaker icon)

A window will open with the following

------------------------------
PLAY LOCALLY- Play the sound so that only you can hear it.

PLAY IN WORLD- Plays the sound on the world channel allowing everyone to hear it.

PLAY AMBIENT- Plays the sound on the Ambient channel

COPY UUID- Copies the sounds UUID to the Clipboard

SAVE OGG- Saves the sound in .OGG format

SAVE WAV- SAves the Sound in . WAV format.

-----------------------------

Sounds like animations need to be reuploaded to be used, you can not extract them to your permanent inventory.

If you want to save money/Use the sounds for free you have to use the UUID

::Sounds from Avatars:

Getting sounds from other will require you to use the sound explorer.

So at the top of your viewer select EXTINCTION
SOUNDS > SOUND EXPLORER

Now the sound explorer is a beast of a tool
I'll explain how it works

At the top you'll see filter check boxes

One for SOURCES and CONTROLS

===================================
SOURCES:

AVATAR- The Explorer scans for sounds coming from People

OBJECTS- The explorer scans for sounds coming from Object

Collisions- The Explorer scans for sounds that comes from collisions
-------

CONTROLS:

OWNED: Will filter only things owned by you

REPEATS: Will filter sounds that loop

Pause Log: .. well not sure about that one.. >_>
----------

At bottom you'll see action buttons

LOCALLY- Play the sound so that only you can hear it.

PLAY WORLD- Plays the sound on the world channel allowing everyone to hear it.

AMBIENT- Plays the sound on the Ambient channel

UUID- Copies the sounds UUID to the Clipboard

SAVE OGG- Saves the sound in .OGG format

SAVE WAV- SAves the Sound in . WAV format.

STOP: Stops the sound from playing

BLACKLIST: Mutes the sound

LOOK AT: Focuses the camera on the source of the sound.

================================

Now that you know what each box does, all you have to do is check the right one and get the sound you want
