Do you have to save it into xml format or something for it to work?

I'm able to save mesh as .obj or .dae but I'm not getting any love on the textures in either format. Supposed to work for .dae, right? I'm testing them in Blender as I save.

Also I have the CUTEST pair of pants but they do that not rez/zap right back to your inventory, thing. I know that was addressed in a tutorial but I've no clue which one right now. So much to learn, here.
