About animesh, pathfinding and NPC scripts - Elierlay - 11-23-2018 This is a kind of new stuff on SL, but it captured my attention instantly. It looks like it will be a whole revolution (hopefully) on filling the SIMs with these new kind of animated meshes that are impersonated (let's say: moving with animations without beeing avatars). There are some interesting videos online that show a lot of non-avatar meshes dancing together and doing very interesting things. In the researches I have done I have become confused a little. These kind of objets (objets and human meshes non-avatars included) need the creation of a character and at the same time other kind of animations in their inventory ... but I am not sure if the mesh must have an integrated squeleton that have been created with the mesh, or the object can be animated even without it. Either I am not sure if the contents of the object must have one or more than one scripts to define all the behavior of the character. I am also interested on applying textures to these kind of meshes inside the SL world since a mesh of this kind has not the different parts to texturize like a normal avatar. Any help? Thanks in advance. I hope others can talk about this interesting new feature on SL and how to experiment with it ... now that it is a novelty ;) |
